Paula Shrader

1949 - 2025

LIMA -- Paula Mae Shrader, age 75, passed away on January 8, 2025, at 7:49 am, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Paula was born on March 21, 1949, in Lima, OH, to Walter and Marilyn (Hoffman) Greenler who preceded her in death. On July 6, 1974, she married Roy C. Shrader Jr. who survives in Lima.

In addition to her husband Roy, Paula is survived by her children: Mandy (Aaron Smith) Beaulieu of Lima, OH and Josh (Laura) Shrader of Harrod, OH, 6 grandchildren: Harley Beaulieu, Jaden Smith, Amara Smith, Zander Shrader, Jaxton Shrader and Korbyn Shrader. Paula was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Greenler and a son in-law, Adam Beaulieu.

Paula was a 1967 graduate of Holgate High School and then she continued her education with earning a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts from Ohio University. During her time in college, she belonged to the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She spent her entire career as an art teacher with the Spencerville School system, retiring in 2001 after 30 years of dedicated service. Paula was a member of South Side Christian Church where she was very active having taught Sunday School Class. She will be remembered as being a very talented, creative and loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She and her husband were foster parents for many years, touching the lives of numerous children. She lived a Christian life and was known to always turn the other cheek. Paula was a big animal lover, having numerous German Shepherds throughout the years.

There will be a funeral service held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the South Side Christian Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Todd Cosart.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
