COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Paula Louise Wetherholt, a beacon of warmth and love, passed away on November 16, 2024 at the NHC of Cookeville. Born on February 11, 1960, to Louis Hodge and Sarah Bowen Hodge in Washington DC, she graced the world with her outgoing and friendly spirit, leaving a profound impact on all who knew her.
Paula was more than just a devoted mother and grandmother; she was a shining example of love and dedication. Her home immaculate, reflecting her organized nature, and it was always filled with the aroma of her delicious cooking. Whether it was a family gathering or a casual meal with friends, Paula cherished those moments at the table, sharing laughter and creating memories over a good meal.
Known for her strong opinions and her deep faith, Paula approached life with passion, whether she was relishing her favorite Lifetime movies or getting lost in the heartwarming pages of a Chicken Soup for the Soul book. She had a creative soul, with a love for arts and crafts, particularly painting and crafting unique jewelry. Paula's passion extended to caring for animals, a testament to her nurturing spirit.
She leaves behind her beloved sons, Travis Lanius of Cookeville and Matthew Lanius of El Paso, TX, who carry with them her loving legacy. Paula was also a doting grandmother to her grandsons Brayden, Jayden, and Jaxon Lanius, as well as her granddaughter Casey Michell Mann. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she took delight in watching them grow, showering them with encouragement and affection.
While Paula’s presence will be deeply missed, the love and memories she imparted will continue to inspire her family. She is remembered fondly by her loved ones who will strive to live out the values she instilled in them. Paula now joins her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and other departed family members, who welcomed her with open arms.
In our hearts, Paula Louise Wetherholt will forever remain a cherished figure, embodying love, companionship, and kindness. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared and the lives she touched.
