Paula Elizabeth Woods, age 78, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on September 4, 2025, at Cox Medical Center South surrounded by loved ones. Paula was born to Paul Barber and Genevieve Barber on June 12, 1947 in Smithville Missouri. They preceded her in death. She grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School in 1965. Paula was married to Paul Woods of Everton, Missouri who also preceded her in death.

Paula worked many years in the Kansas City area before moving to Everton. Paula always loved getting together with family and friends. She helped to plan many parties, potlucks, and weddings. Nothing, however, brought her more fulfillment than her son and grandchildren. Paula will be remembered as a woman of faith. She often told her family "God loves you and so do I". Those who knew her remember her smile and laugh and positive outlook no matter what she faced. In her later years she faced many health issues and moved into Springfield Healthcare Center. She made friends there and everybody knew her for her outgoing and uplifting spirit. She even lead a bible study group there.

Paula is survived by her son Christpher Paul Barber (Tanya) of Ozark, grandchildren, Christopher Paul Barber II (Madison) of Republic, Madysen Barber of Marionville, Dylan Barber of Ozark and Jylar Barber also of Ozark, and step grandsons Beau, Chase and Brody Gallion of Springfield. Great grandchildren Loxlee, Dax and Cillian. Siblings, Deborah Gay (Craig) of Kansas City, Charity Adams (Craig) of Kearney, and John Barber (Lisa) of Smithville.

A memorial service is planned at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
