In Loving Memory of Paula (Miller) Yoder
August 20, 1958 – September 2, 2025
Paula (Miller) Yoder, age 67, passed away suddenly on September 2, 2025 in
Corpus Christi, TX, at the home of her daughter.
Born on August 20, 1958, in Terre Haute, IN, Paula lived a life marked by resilience, creativity, and deep love for her family. Paula was adopted by Katie and Sylvanus Miller of Siletz, OR at the age of 7. Paula was married in 1978 to Stanley Yoder and together they had three children. After moving to Pennsylvania in 1987, Paula returned to school and became a nurse, a profession that suited her caring nature. Outside of work, she was known for her many passions: antique shopping, quilting, crafting, knitting, baking, and decorating her home for every holiday. Paula's greatest joy was spending time with her family-whether it was visiting the beach, sharing stories around the table, or playing long, laughter-filled games of Rook at family reunions.
Her love of cooking and baking filled the homes and hearts of everyone lucky enough to gather around her table. She especially loved collecting new recipes and watching Food Network. Paula enjoyed her time at Souderton Mennonite Church, participating in small group, Sunday school trips to Spruce Lake, Wednesday evening dinners, and volunteering for the nursery during Vacation Bible School. She recently moved back to Newport, Oregon-a place close to her heart-where she found peace near the coast she so adored.
Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvanus and Katie Miller, brothers Michael and Jeff Miller, and her birth mother, Joyce Speaker. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Melanie Misra (Anand), Jonas Yoder (Susan), and Dixie Carroll (Anthony); her cherished grandchildren: Nate, Kelsey, and Ben, and her sisters, Debbie and Rosella. Paula will be missed by countless friends and family, including her dear friend, Alan Landis, whose support was a constant in her life.
An online memorial service will be held on October 4, 2025, to honor and celebrate Paula's life.
In lieu of flowers, her family encourages you to remember her by sharing a homemade meal, crafting something by hand, or offering kindness to someone in need.
Paula will be deeply missed and forever loved.
