Paulette Marie Provolt, a beacon of unwavering faith and boundless love, was called to her eternal home on December 8, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Born on November 11, 1945, in
Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Veronica Hibbler, and sister to twin brother Paul and brothers Mike and Don. Paulette's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. She departed this world in Grand Rapids, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Paulette's journey through life was marked by her deep Christian faith, which guided her every step and shone brightly through her actions. She was a woman who found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life-Polish festivals, traditional food, and the lively steps of polka dancing. Yet, above all, her heart belonged to her family. Married to her beloved husband, Charles, for 55 years before his passing, Paulette was the cornerstone of a family that included her son, Matthew (the late Kathy), her daughters, Lisa (Mike) Hindman and Katharine (Mike) Rohroff, and her cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Hayden, Logan, and Luke.
Throughout her life, Paulette's hands were rarely still, as she worked with dedication at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. Her commitment to her community was evident in her service as a Eucharist minister for St. Pius and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parishes, where she touched countless lives with her grace and compassion.
In the face of her own struggles with dementia, Paulette's spirit remained unbroken. She was a source of comfort to others battling the disease, always ready with a soothing word or a gentle touch. Her ability to care for others, even in the midst of her own trials, was a true reflection of her character-kind, loving, and faith-filled.
As a wife and mother, Paulette was unparalleled. She took immense pride in her role, watching over her grandchildren with a tender heart and providing care for her husband, parents, and mother-in-law with unwavering dedication. Her life was a living example of the inspiring words of Mother Teresa: "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."
Paulette is now reunited with her husband and parents along with her brothers, Paul (the late Nancy), Mike (Chris), and Don (the late Dawn) Hibbler. Her godchildren, nieces, and nephew will recall her as a sweet soul who loved them as her own. To all who knew her, Paulette was a reminder of the enduring power of love and the beauty of a life lived in service to others.
Today, as we celebrate Paulette's journey to her heavenly abode, we are reminded that while her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit continues to guide and inspire. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and community-a legacy of love that will continue to flourish in the lives she touched. Paulette's story is not one of an ending, but a beautiful continuation in the hearts of those she loved.
