Pauline "Chris" Biernacki

Pauline "Chris" Biernacki, age 91, fell asleep in the Lord on December 24, 2025. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Vlassios Christopoulos of Pitsa, Corinth, Greece, and Georgia (Liabotis) Christopoulos of Psili Vrisi, Tripoli, Greece. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved Theio, Peter Kaskaras, her father's cousin and cherished member of the family.

Pauline devoted 30 years to Toledo Public Schools as a 7th-grade English and History teacher, sharing her love of learning with generations of students. Her faith guided every aspect of her life, and she was deeply devoted to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where she served as President of both the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope. Alongside her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Biernacki, she helped establish and lead numerous parish and community initiatives, including Cathedral 100, the Holy Trinity Kitchen, Christmas parties, summer luncheons, and charitable events benefiting Toledo Children's Hospital.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Gerald Biernacki; her children, Gregory (Pamela) Biernacki and Andrea Sweet (Jon); grandchildren, Katherine Junes (John), Christopher Biernacki (Ashley), Julie Biernacki (Haley Johnston), Alexis Sweet, and Megan Roberts (Wayne); and five great-grandchildren, Georgia and Elli Junes, Jacqueline Biernacki, and Vivian and Wayne Roberts.

Services will be held Friday, January 2nd, at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Toledo, Ohio, with Makaria to follow. A memorial service will be held in Williamsburg, Virginia, on February 7th, location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice House of Williamsburg.

Pauline will be remembered for her faith, service, generosity, and deep love for her family and Church.
