Pauline Carmack Cox, 98, a lifelong and beloved resident of Morrow, AR passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family at her home in the wee hours of Monday October 27, 2025. Pauline was born on January 27, 1927 in Morrow, AR to Samuel Lowrie (S.L.) and Edith Rutherford Carmack. Pauline's entire life was spent within 1 square mile of where her life began and where her life ended with her entrance into the Heavenly realm.

Pauline met Thurman T. Cox when she was teenager and they ultimately married on September 4, 1943 in Prairie Grove, AR prior to his overseas deployment to fight in WWII. Upon Thurman's return home, the couple peddled apples and tirelessly worked to build their home and raise a family. As soul mates, they were married until Thurman's death in 1998.

Pauline was a fierce and devoted servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and Savior. She was raised in a Christian home and continued her faith through regular attendance in her church, Lay-Witness Missions, Revivals, and sharing her joy of music by singing and playing the piano. Throughout the years, Pauline, her husband, and a cousin would volunteer singing and music at many funerals in the surrounding communities throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. In addition to playing the piano for Church, Pauline taught Sunday school classes leading ministries for children and adults. In her 60's she would ultimately research and write a "question and answer" bible study curriculum of each book of the New Testament. Her devotion to Christ was so strong that He filled her spiritual cup so that she could fill the cup and hearts of others.

Through her experiences with the Holy Spirit, anyone who met Pauline knew that she was committed to Christ as well as her family. Pauline endured many hardships throughout her life, which made it easy to recognize God's blessings.

Pauline was a cherished wife and matriarch of an extensive, multi-generational family. She guided, nurtured, and generously treasured her family and friends; not only through her actions, but by her daily walk through life. By wearing the Battle Armor of God, Pauline intensely guarded and prayed for the hearts of her family even in times when it was not easy.

Pauline has always had an adventurous spirit whether it was fearlessly climbing to the top of a 2 story house at the young age of 5, driving a 2-ton cattle truck (full of cattle) on icy roads throughout the hills of Northwest Arkansas, crawling under the house to kill a wounded skunk, swimming with stingrays in Acapulco, riding water buffalos in the Phillippines, or frolicking with dolphins off of the coast of South America. As one begins to age, some might think you would welcome a slower pace and afternoon naps; however, Pauline was too busy skipping across the white caps on the back of a jet ski up until the age of 97.

Pauline was an enthusiastic canner of Thurman's garden. Everything he grew, she canned. Her favorite garden vegetable was a potato and her family could often be heard making jokes about her ability to eat them morning, noon, and night.

Her "bucket list" included the goal to reach 100 years of age; even though she failed, she is now walking the "streets of gold" in eternity.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Thurman, parents Samuel Lowrie (S.L.) and Edith Carmack, 3 brothers Dennis and Ruth Carmack of Fort Smith, AR, John Clyde (J.C.) and Joyce Carmack of Batesville, AR, Carl and Jackie of Springdale.

Pauline is survived by her 3 children Edwin Cox (Yoly) of Westminister, CA, daughter Charlene Cox Scott widow of Warren, of Summers, AR, and son David Cox (Lisa) of Miami, OK; 5 grandchildren Roxane Cox Asher (Wally) of Siloam Springs, AR, Robin Scott Dorf (Scott) of Fayetteville, AR, Rhonda Scott Jones (Scott) of Summers, AR, Ashley Cox Patterson of Miami, OK, and Tyler Cox (Jeneique) of Los Angeles, CA; 7 great grandchildren Myriah Dorf Mitchell (Dustin) of Grove, OK, Jordan Dorf of Fayetteville, AR, Addisyn Jones Wilhite (Chance) of Dutch Mills, AR, Kohlman Jones (Molly) of Prairie Grove, AR, Brystal Jones of Summers, AR, Thea Cox Thrun (Shawn) of Moore, OK, Cooper Patterson of Miami, OK; 3 Great Great Grandchildren Maxi Mitchell, of Fayetteville, AR, Kai Thrun and Josie Thrun of Moore, OK; 8 nephews, 2 nieces, and numerous great nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and loved ones.

The family would like to thank Washington Regional Medical Center Hospice, Luginbuel Funeral Home, Clyde Community Church, John Latta, Carter's Flowers, and numerous friends and community members for their love and support during this challenging time.

Pauline always treasured her thick, full head of hair, the family would like to thank Teresa Pershall (All About Hair) for her dedication to always ensure that Pauline's hair looked its best.

The Family would especially like to thank Alicia Wofford for her years of love, service, and dedication to Pauline; but more importantly during the final weeks of her journey home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Clyde Community Church Building Fund PO Box 4, Canehill, AR 72717.
