Pauline L. (Bishop) James

Pauline Leota James, age 90 years, peacefully passed away at home on Monday evening, June 13, 2016, with her children at her side. She was born on November 23, 1925 in Essexville, Michigan the daughter of the late Felix and Theresa (DeFord) Bishop. Pauline was united in marriage to Clarence H. James, Jr. on January 7, 1947 and he preceded her in death. She was an active member of St. Frances X. Cabrini Catholic Church. Surviving family include her children, Bill James, Don (Anne) James, Cheryl (Lynn) Childs, Pam (Mike) Carnes and Clarence "Bud" James III; daughters-in-law, Belinda James and Julie James; grandchildren, Jeremie Hecht, Jenna Matthews, Tina Smith, Tracy James, Jay James, Billy James Jr., Tiffany Parker, Jennifer Johnson, Michael Childs, Michael Richards, Michelle Christiansen, Steven Neumann, Sarah Neumann, Joshua James, Abagail James and Matthew James; also surviving are several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Bishop; sister, Priscilla Bristow and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; sons, Robert L. James and Ronald A. James; brothers and sisters, Harold Bishop, Roy Bishop, Midge Sager, Roselma Elliott, Felix Bishop, Geraldine and Gerald Bishop, Wilbur Bishop and William Bishop. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Frances X. Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar. Burial and Rite of Committal will follow at St. Anne Cemetery in Linwood, Michigan. The family will greet friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar. A Rosary Service will take place on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wishes of Pauline's Family.
