Pauline Massey Obituary
Pauline's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and commitment to serving others. In her early years, she worked at Crash, Fire & Rescue at RDU Airport in Raleigh, where she developed a strong sense of duty and perseverance. At the age of 40, she courageously returned to college and obtained her RN license, further exemplifying her passion for helping those in need. She eventually retired from the South Davidson Family Resource Center in Denton, North Carolina, having made a significant impact on all those she encountered.
A woman of many interests, Pauline found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for books was evident as she amassed an impressive collection over the years. She cherished her beloved cats and "granddoggies," and she found solace and happiness at the beach and on the water at Badin Lake.
Her faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted member of Chandler's Grove Methodist Church at Badin Lake, North Carolina. Pauline sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and earned her Lay Speaker Certificate in 2006, touching the lives of many with her gentle guidance and unwavering belief in the Lord.
Pauline is preceded in death by her loving parents, Phillip and Margaret Johnson, and her sister, Kathy Macon of Morhead, NC. Her legacy continues through her children, Eric Massey (Penny) of Lake Forest, CA, Joe Massey (Debby Telford) of Clayton, NC, and Laurie Cooper (Craig) of Lexington, NC, as well as her granddaughters, Morgan Hermelin (Jared) of Katy, TX, and Meredith Houchens (Kevin) of Clayton, NC.
Though there is no public service planned at this time, the family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. An announcement will be made should plans for a service be arranged in the future.
Pauline's life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and faith. Her memory will forever inspire those who knew her to live with kindness, pursue their passions, and cherish every moment
