James Trammell Greer Senior or Jamey as his family and friends knew him, went home to the Lord during the evening of his 67th birthday after a long struggle against heart failure. Jamey was born in Columbus Georgia, and grew up in Greensboro. Jamey was a graduate of Dudley high school and a life long mechanic who owned the local repair shop Cox Radiator for many years before going to work for the City of Greensboro where he retired as a heavy diesel mechanic. His love of cars was second only to his love for UNC Tarheel sports, NASCAR and music…. Especially Elvis Presley.

Jamey leaves behind a large family including brothers Terry and Danny, sister Beverly, his wife Susie-married for 44 years, together for 46 years. His oldest son James Jr or Jay to family and friends, ( wife Amanda) daughter Melissa ( husband Brandon) and son Aaron (wife Angie). His grandchildren Shelby, James the 3rd or JT to the family, Jackie, Micha, and Sarabeth. Jamey was preceded in death by his parents L.C. and Norma, his Uncle Norman or Noodie to the family, and a lifelong friend who was more brother than friend Charlie. Jamey also leaves behind a large extended family of relatives and friends as he never met a stranger. He always had a story to share or a cheeky joke to whisper and a way to make everyone around him laugh.

The family will receive visitors to share memories and stories at a celebration of his life at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service at 2110 Servomation Road, Greensboro, NC 27407 on September 11, 2025 from 5pm-7pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to Authoracare Hospice would be well appreciated by the family for their dedicated care and support to our father.
