Pauline R. Sumpter, 80, of Wabash, Indiana, died 5:00 pm, Monday, September 29, 2025, at her home. She was born on July 25, 1945, in Warsaw, Indiana, to William E. and Irene E. (Linebrink) Murphy.

Pauline was a 1963 graduate of Akron High School in Akron, Indiana. She married Larry J. Sumpter in Akron on August 2, 1963; he died December 10, 2019. Pauline worked at Wabash Magnetics for 18 years and at Mississinewa Reservoir for 12 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Wabash. Pauline enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Lori Sumpter of Peru, Indiana and Billie Jo Harner of Wabash; three grandchildren, Alexandria (Jeff, Jr.) Eckrote of Akron, Jared Joseph Harner of Wabash, and Ashley Sumpter-Music of Peru, and sister, Peggy (Richard) Kelsheimer of Wabash. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Allen Music; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2025 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Minister David Fincher officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Church of Christ at Wabash.
