Pauline Wooley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brater-Winter Funeral Home (Harrison) on Jun. 2, 2025.
Pauline Wooley (nee Middleton) of Florence, KY, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on May 31, 2025, at the remarkable age of 97. Born on December 14, 1927, to Rufus and Geneva (nee Scott) Middleton, Pauline's life was a melody woven with love, family, and an unwavering passion for music that resonated throughout her journey.
In October of 1948, she married the love of her life, Jack Marshall Wooley, and together they welcomed two daughters, Christine and Paula. Pauline's affection for Appalachian music blossomed in her youth, igniting a lifelong passion. Alongside her sisters, she formed the Cumberland Mountain Sisters, where her talent on the autoharp brought joy and harmony to many. Later in life, at Harrison Trails, Pauline's room became a sanctuary of Country Music, where aides and friends alike were drawn to her infectious spirit and the melodies that filled the air.
Pauline was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jack Wooley; her beloved daughter, Christine Gonzalez; her parents, Rufus and Geneva Middleton; and her cherished siblings, Rufus Jr. Middleton, Ada Giles, and Ethel Campbell. She leaves behind her daughter Paula (Kenneth) Brock, along with her cherished grandchildren: Marcos (Maggie) Gonzalez, Melissa (Livier) Gonzalez, and Jessica (Steve) Watson, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory dear.
As we gather to celebrate her life, graveside services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:45 AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mourners and friends are invited to meet at the main gate at 10:30 AM, where we will reflect on the legacy of a woman whose love and music will echo forever in our hearts.
In remembrance of Pauline, let us carry forward the spirit of her songs and the warmth of her love.
