Gary Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brater-Winter Funeral Home (Harrison) on Mar. 12, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Lee Taylor, who left us peacefully at his home on March 11, 2026. Born on January 9, 1943, to Orie and Leona (nee Hoppins) Taylor, Gary was a man of quiet strength and kindness, beloved by his family and friends.

Gary lived a life marked by service and dedication. As an Army veteran, he embodied the values of loyalty and integrity. For 20 years, he channeled those qualities into his work as an equipment operator in the copper mines of Tucson, Arizona. His hands taught him the trade, but his heart was always in the simple pleasures of life.

Those who knew Gary will remember him as a down-to-earth guy who loved baseball-both as a spectator and a player. His enthusiasm for the game brought joy to many, and his skill on the field was admired by friends and family alike. In addition to baseball, Gary cherished the tranquility of fishing and the thrill of hunting, finding solace in the great outdoors.

Gary is survived by his brothers, Roger Taylor and Terry (Donna) Taylor, who will forever hold on to the cherished memories they created together. He is predeceased by his sister, Wanda Jean Pennington, who will surely welcome him with open arms.

To honor Gary's life, a visitation will take place on March 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by a prayer service that will start at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to join us in celebrating a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.

As we gather to remember Gary, we will cherish the laughter, shared memories, and love that he brought into our lives. He may have been a simple man, but his impact on those around him was anything but ordinary. Rest in peace, dear Gary-you will be missed more than words can convey.
