Daryl Freese Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brater-Winter Funeral Home (Harrison) on Mar. 6, 2026.
Daryl K. Freese, who left us much too soon at the age of 62, on March 3, 2026 will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Daryl was born on May 4, 1963, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Betty "Jane" Watkins and Vernon Freese. He lived a life rich in love, laughter, and cherished moments, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Daryl was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Karen Lynne Freese, whom he married on December 29, 1984 and they raised their children Justin and Matthew in Harrison until they moved to Hebron, KY in 20 Daryl was a proud father to his sons, Justin and Matthew, and a doting grandfather to David, Maxx, Jack, and Leo. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, whether it was coaching Harrison Jr. Baseball for 11 years, collecting sports cards, or indulging in fantasy football, where he reveled in cheering for the Bengals alongside his sons.

In his professional life, Daryl thrived as a quality manager at Zeiss. Outside of work, he was passionate about rock 'n' roll concerts, fishing, and family vacations to the beach, with Jamaica being his favorite escape. Daryl's love for life extended to his loyal dog, Linus, who brought him much joy and companionship.

Daryl also leaves behind his mom: Betty "Jane" Freese, brothers: Greg (Mary Joy True) and Kevin (Kathleen Kissing) Freese, brother-in-law: Brian (Carol) Upchurch, along with many treasured nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly. His spirit will be felt long after we've said our goodbyes.

Join us for a gathering of friends and family to honor Daryl at Brater Winter Funeral Home in Harrison on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Harrison Junior Baseball. A funeral home representative will be available to collect donations during the visitation.

Let's come together to share stories, laugh, and remember Daryl-not with sadness, but with the joy he brought into the world. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in each of us.
