Pearl Arking passed away on July 16th, 2025, at 105 years in Tamarac, Florida. She was a very kind woman who always carried a positive attitude about life. She was an avid reader who loved going to the library. She loved anything with butterflies, and her hobby was doing crafts.
She met her husband William at a USO dance during WWII while he was in the Army. They would get married in 1943 and stayed married until he passed way in 2011 at the age of 98 years old.
She worked with her husband at their Linen and Gift Shop business on the Ocean City, New Jersey Boardwalk for 50 years in the summertime and then worked in their Hollywood Boulevard store in Florida in the wintertime.
Pearl was born on December 30th, 1919, in Patchogue, Long Island, New York, Her father, mother and brother have all passed on.
Her 105-year journey took her through most of the 20th century and a quarter of the 21st century. She witnessed the landing of a man on the moon and was also present to see 27 presidential elections take place.
With all that she was able to witness in her long life nothing meant more to her than her family. She loved them all very much and they all loved her. She will be missed and is survived by her two sons. Elliott (Jean) Arking of Ocean City, New Jersey. Evan (Sara) Arking of Coral Springs, Florida. Her three grandsons, Aaron (Germain), Andrew (Tammy) and Kyle Arking. Her two great-grandsons, Aric and Harrison Arking.
