Pearl Hurdsman Cummings, age 73, passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2025, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She was born on October 8th, 1951, in Richfield, Utah, to Earl Hurdsman and Ella Ipson.
Pearl graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1969. On April 21st, 1979, she married Mark Cummings in Manti, Utah, and together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. She devoted her life to her family, cherishing her role as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Hurdsman and Ella Ipson, and her siblings Joseph Hurdsman, John Hurdsman, and Katherine Kunz.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Cummings; her children, Doug (Heather) Cummings and Paul (Anna) Cummings, both of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Evelena (Robert) Pulsipher of Los Alamos, New Mexico; and Joanne (Cory) Rankin of Fort Worth, Texas. Pearl was blessed with eighteen beloved grandchildren: Ammon, Hunter, Cole, Alice, Grant, Jacob, Lorelei, and Mia Cummings; John, Natalie, Olivia, Michael, and Samuel Pulsipher; and Kye, Easton, Leilani, Tristin, and Jackson Rankin.
Pearl cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She found great joy in playing games, sewing, quilting, baking, genealogy, and connecting with loved ones. Her kind spirit, patience, and devotion to her faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints touched everyone who knew her.
Matthew 11:28–30 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
A memorial service in Pearl’s honor will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at 1:00 PM at 275 Avenida De Bernalillo East, Bernalillo, New Mexico. Following the service, family and close friends will gather for the burial at 2:30 PM at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
Pearl’s love, faith, and compassion will continue to live on through all whose lives she touched.
