A private graveside service will be held at a later date for Pearl Jean Meissen Lampman who passed away surrounded by her family on March 8, 2026 at River Oaks Retirement Manor.

Pearl was born February 19, 1934 in Compton, California and was currently a resident of Lafayette. She spent her formative years in Bellflower, California where she graduated from Excelsior High School in 1952. She resided in Garden Grove California and reared two children. She became involved in the Garden Grove School System as a Recess Officer.

In 1970, Pearl moved to Lafayette, LA where she was very involved in her children’s activities which included many board games played with, not only them, but also their friends.

Pearl had time for herself to hone her sewing talents. She was an extraordinary seamstress. Her beautiful interior curtains, bed spreads and pillows were received and loved by many. By hand, she would also crochet and cross stitch. She loved listening to all genres of music and dancing to the tunes.

Love of her family stretched out to four generations as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by two children: a son, Steven Miles Lampman and wife, Linda Touchet Lampman; daughter, Tami Diane Lampman Diaz; four grandchildren; Amy Lampman Conaster husband Paul, Erich Lampman and wife, Jordan Moeller Lampman; James Travis Hunter, Lyndsey Scott Hunter and wife, Holly DeLeon-Hunter; seven great-grandchildren, Mark Allen Leon, Lorynn Marie Lejeune, Taryn Rene Lejeune, Grayson Miles Lampman, Elijah Cohen Lampman, Zane Alexander Lampman and Memphis Mae Hunter; one great-great grandson, Emmett Michael Lejeune; two nieces, Kathy Christ and Karen Christ and nephews Kurt Christ, Dale Bourgeois and wife, Stacy; Mark Bourgeois and wife, Terry; two sisters, Virginia Christ and Diana Childers and husband, Jim.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Meissen and Maria Stretch Meissen and one son-in-law, Charles Diaz.

The family sends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at River Oaks Retirement Manor for the professionalism and care shown toward Mrs. Lampman.
