Pearl Lewis Root was born October 27, 1935 in Clay County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Gill Lewis and Ollie Brown Lewis. She was united in marriage to E.H. Root who preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children, Kay McCracken, Keith Root and wife Cheryl both of London and Kathy Chandler and husband G.W. of Saint Augustine, Florida; four grandchildren, Melanie Callahan, Chastity Bradley, Hillary Clark, and Alisa Houchens; seven great-grandchildren, Cole Bradley, Wesley Bradley, Blakely Callahan, Tanner Houchens, Brynn Houchens, John Hudson Clark, and Jonah Hugh Clark; four siblings, Bessie Miller and Evelyn Whitt both of Newtonsville, Ohio, Mary Betty Gregory and Charlie Lewis and wife Mitzi all of London; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents and husband she is also preceded in death by her four siblings, Minnie Davis, Lillie Edwards, Sophia Hampton, and Walter Brown.
She was a sales clerk, a homemaker and a member of Freedom United Baptist Church.
Pearl Lewis Root departed this life Tuesday, March 5, 2024 being 88 years, 4 months, and 9 days of age.
The funeral services for Pearl Lewis Root will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Adam Hooker officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery in London, Kentucky.
The family of Pearl Lewis Root will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers: Alex Clark, Charlie Houchens, Tanner Houchens, Barkley Lewis, Chase Moore, and Austin Moore.
