Pearl Silsby, age 89 of Centralia, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Pearl was born on June 16, 1935 in Cahokia, the daughter of William and Mary (Campbell) Silsby.
Pearl was quite the "foodie". She loved searching for recipes and would spend her free time leafing through cooking magazines and books. In most conversations with her, she would eventually inquire if you had a piece of candy or a sweet treat for her. She loved collecting dolls and stuffed animals, business cards, and writing notes with her pen and paper. If she didn't have any pen and paper, she was going to need to borrow yours. If Pearl thought you were good looking, she would give you a little whistle and tell you so. She enjoyed spending her free time watching cartoons with her friends and going shopping.
Pearl may have been small in stature, but she was big in heart. She loved joking around and playing pranks on others. When God made her, she got an extra scoop of sweet, with a dash of sass. It was a privilege to know Pearl and she will be missed dearly by her friends at Bryan Manor.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Belleville, with Lisa Guilliams officiating. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
