Pecola Hanes, passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born in Union springs, Alabama on May 24, 1936, to Willie Lee Youngblood and Callie Towsend Youngblood. She lived most of her life in New York, and retired from MetLife Insurance after 31 years of service. She was an avid cruiser, and an excellent cook. Pecola would greet anyone with a warm smile, a hug, and a great dinner. She is survived by her Husband, Lee Earnest Hanes and Daughter Chandra (Leon) Hanes-Brewton, grandchildren: Abrie Hanes, Mitika Hanes, Keven and Daniel Brewton.
Viewing 12:00-2:00PM, Service will be held at 2:00pm on May 29, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, Marietta, GA and a Homegoing Service at 1:00PM on May 30, 2024 at Mount Paran Church 2055 Mt Paran Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30327.
