Pedro Peña Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rivera Funeral Home - McAllen on Feb. 5, 2026.
Pedro Peña, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in San Juan, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on November 22, 1946, in McAllen, Texas, to Pedro Peña and Santos (Villarreal) Peña, Pedro's life was marked by dedication, love, and the kind of practical wisdom that leaves a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Pedro's early life in McAllen was the foundation of his strong work ethic and handy nature. He carried these traits through his years, becoming a pillar of reliability and resourcefulness in both his professional and personal life. His hands were rarely still, as he was always fixing, building, or improving something around him.

In his heart, Pedro was a family man. He found his greatest joy in the company of his beloved wife, Antonia Amaya Peña. Together, they nurtured a loving family, including their children, Judy Garcia, Jaime Peña, and David Peña. Pedro took immense pride in his role as a father, guiding his children with a gentle firmness that both supported and inspired them. His love extended to his grandchildren and great-grandchild, whose achievements and milestones were a source of immense pride and happiness for him.
Pedro's siblings, Elva Castillo, Amelia Peña, Nena Peña, Alicia Peña, and Arturo Peña, remember him as a steadfast presence in their lives. His guidance and support were unwavering, and he shared a unique bond with each of them. While Pedro now joins his late parents in eternal rest, the memories he created with his family and friends will continue to be celebrated and cherished.
Throughout his life, Pedro was known for his willingness to lend a hand and his ability to fix almost anything. His skills were a testament to his character, reflecting his patience, attention to detail, and the love he had for making things right. This legacy of helpfulness and practical wisdom is one that his family and friends will carry forward in his honor.
Pedro's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the countless stories, shared experiences, and the indelible mark he left on the world. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose, love, and the satisfaction of a day's hard work done well. As we bid farewell to Pedro Peña, Jr., we do so with gratitude for the time we had with him and the knowledge that his legacy will continue in the lives of those he touched.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2026 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen.
The family of Pedro Peña, Jr. would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have offered support and comfort during this time. His memory will be honored in the hearts of his loved ones forever.

My deepest condolences to the Peña family. I met Pete many years ago , and I have not seen him in a long time, since I moved to Central Texas. I always found him to be such a good human being. He did several glass jobs for me. In fact I am looking at an antique armoire that Pete replaced the mirrors in. Antonia and children know that my prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. May Jesus open heaven for Pete and receive him into His loving arms. Roberto B Rodriguez
