Peggy Jean Aubrey

Peggy Jean Aubrey, born on March 9, 1971, in Plainview, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in Commerce, Texas. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Peggy's life was marked by her resilience, hard work, and deep commitment to her family and community.

Peggy graduated from Fannindel High School and devoted herself to various jobs throughout her lifetime, including a significant role at Hunt Regional Hospital in Commerce, where she made lasting contributions. She was known for her strong work ethic and her unwavering dedication.

Her passion for music and dancing brought joy to her life, along with the cherished moments spent with her grandchildren and family. Peggy was always quick to connect with others, often reaching out through phone calls to check in on family and friends.

She was a proud member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Throughout her life, Peggy garnered the love and respect of many, evidenced by the numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her kindness.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Sabreshia King and Ja'Chasitee King; her special niece, Zaiannah Aubrey; her special niece, Ladetra Aubrey Hardeman; her beloved grandchildren, Ivyana King, Amiyah Mosley, Naomi King, Jayla Jones, and Jaylin Jones; and her dear siblings, Vera Aubrey, Debra Aubrey, Freddie Aubrey, and Bobby Aubrey, as well as her special brothers, Horace Jeffrey and Thurman Locke Sr. She also leaves behind a special friend, Billy King, and countless other family members.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Aubrey; her mother, Emma Crosby Aubrey; her son, Clarence Aubrey; and sisters Betty Williams and Helen Locke, along with her sister Brenda Aubrey.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M.

Her funeral service will be held on December 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Commerce, TX with Elder Roy Gaffney as eulogist.  The pallbearers will include Jaylin Jones, Zachary Rose, Justin Sims, Victor Lewis, Darrell Wilburn, Duntae Lewis, and Michael Harris, with honorary pallbearers being Courtney Aubrey, Carlos Aubrey, Marcus Aubrey, Thurman Locke, Cody Locke, Byron Runnells, Eddy Hardeman, Thurman Lock Sr. and Jurase Brown.

As we remember Peggy Jean Aubrey, we honor her spirit, her love for her family, and the legacy she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
