Peggy Virginia Haskell Bohler, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Novato, California, on October 31, 2025 with her beloved husband by her side. Born December 22, 1939, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Herschel Harold Haskell and Milfred Virginia Goodman, Peggy, lived a rich and fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends.
She married the love of her life, Lawrence D. (Dave) Bohler, in Terre Haute on February 3, 1962. Together, they began their journey in Long Beach, California, and embarked on new adventures, including an Army tour in Germany in 1963. The couple also spent five years in their beloved home in Franktown, Colorado before settling with their family in Novato, California in 1974. Peggy raised four children with love and devotion, beginning with a trial by fire with four under the age of 4!
Peggy was outgoing and took on several jobs in which she excelled, including hospital laboratory secretary, manager of a sports facility concession operation, and legal secretary for a Novato attorney.
Peggy loved to sing and yet tended to avoid the spotlight, preferring to cheer on her children, husband, and later grandchildren at music, sports, and cheerleading events for as long as she could attend them. She was a gifted artist and many of her paintings and sketches hang in her home and in the homes of loved ones. She wrote poetry and helped write funny performances for the "Hot Airs," the parents of the California Wind Children, to perform when their teens returned from summer tours.
Peggy was deeply religious and her faith always remained central to her life. She sought to treat everyone she met with kindness and empathy. Peggy touched many people in a profound way. She doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they adored her. Peggy was curious, funny, spunky, unfailingly honest, and determined.
Peggy is survived by her devoted husband, Dave, and their children, Laura Doreen, Patrick Joseph, and Anastasia Colleen. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy David, in 1990. Peggy is the proud grandmother to Jessica, Amanda, Rebecca, Ellie, Naomi, Kaila, Timothy, and Zachary, and four great-grandchildren with another on the way. Peggy is also survived by her loving siblings, Tina Wyndham, Teresa Jackson, and Ruth Price and predeceased by her sister Dixie Garloch and brother Dan Haskell.
Throughout her life, Peggy was known for her warmth, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
