Chandrakant M. Patel "Bhikhu-bhai" • "Papa" December 2, 1957 – November 6, 2025
Chandrakant M. Patel-lovingly known as Bhikhu, and most dearly as "Papa" to his two children-passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in San Rafael, California, at the age of 67.
Born on December 2, 1957, in India, he was the beloved son of Sitaben and Manibhai Patel. He grew up in Lakhanpore Gaam surrounded by the warmth of his family, including his two older sisters, Damyanti and Rashmi, and his younger sister, Padma.
In the seventh grade, he found the person who would become the love of his life. What began as simple letters exchanged between classmates blossomed into a lifelong bond with his soulmate, Vanitaben. Their partnership was one built on affection, laughter, and unwavering support.
Together they welcomed their daughter, Bina, and their son, Hemal, raising them first in India before courageously building a new life in the United States. They eventually made their home in Mill Valley at the Fireside, where they created memories filled with love, resilience, and community.
Chandrakant's greatest joy was his family, and his heart expanded even more as he became a father-in-law to Hamed Salahshor and Oaeza Pathan, and a proud grandfather to his cherished grandsons, Azan and Adin. He loved them deeply, and they brought him immeasurable happiness.
Throughout his life, Chandrakant lived with a joyful spirit and an open heart. He was a builder, a learner, a traveler, and a warm social presence who made every room lighter. He loved good food, good company, and above all, he cherished every moment spent with his wife by his side.
Those who knew him will forever remember his bright, genuine smile and the gentle steadiness of his presence. He often reassured his family with the simple, comforting words: "Cinta Ni karaso"-don't worry; everything will be okay. And with him, it always felt that way.
His love, wisdom, and warmth will continue to live on in the family he adored and in all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
