Peggy Bozman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evergreen Funeral Cremation and Reception - Columbus on Dec. 29, 2025.
We mourn the loss, yet celebrate the life, of Peggy Bozman, affectionately known as "Little Peg," who departed this life on December 20, 2025. Born on July 21, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Peggy was a true beacon of light-touching countless lives with her loyalty, love, and ever-present humor. She resided in Columbus, Ohio, for over 60 years, leaving a lasting imprint on the Olde Town East community.

Peggy was a diligent and devoted worker whose strong work ethic shone through her 31-year career as an Environmental Service Associate at Grant Medical Center and Mount Carmel West Hospital. She retired from Grant Medical Center in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of service, compassion, and care. She was also an honorary member of the Sisters & Brothers Social Club and a dedicated service volunteer for Mount Carmel West in partnership with COTA.

While Peggy worked hard, she also lived fully. Her zest for life was infectious-whether she was singing her heart out at karaoke, calling numbers at bingo, or sharing her extensive music collection. Her hobbies reflected her joyful spirit and brought smiles to everyone around her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Bradford, Shirley Blakey, John Henry Blakey, and Fannie Lucille Blakey; her beloved husband, James "Jamo" Bozman; and her siblings, Betty Lou Brittman, Mildred Hutchinson, Ruth Harmon, Mary Ola Barber, Louis Blakey, William Blakey, and Larry Blakey.

She is survived by her brothers, Simon Blakey, John Thomas Blakey, and Kato (Betty) Arnold; and her sisters, Virginia Clark and Daisy Bates. Peggy also held a special place in her heart for her sister-in-law, Deborah Bozman.

As written in the Bible, "A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of birth" (Ecclesiastes 7:1). Peggy lived a life that embodied this scripture. She was funny, loving, and unapologetically herself. Her memory lives on through the laughter she shared, the love she gave, and the many lives she touched.
