View Tribute Book It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peggy Marawu Chipinda, a beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and nurse, who passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 51.Peggy was born on March 24, 1974, in Harare, Zimbabwe to Mary Masiiwa and Morgan Marawu. Throughout her life, she exemplified purpose, grace, and steadfast compassion. She completed her primary and secondary education in Zimbabwe before earning a diploma in Journalism and working in the field. In 2006, Peggy emigrated to the United States, where she transitioned into nursing - a profession that became her calling. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV in 2013.Her career as a registered cardiac nurse began at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she served from 2013 to 2022 with distinction. In 2022, Peggy and her family relocated to the Houston area, continuing her career at St. Joseph Hospital's telemetry unit in Bryan, Texas. Peggy's commitment to mentoring young nurses was recognized by her receipt of the 2025 Preceptor of the Year award at St. Joseph Hospital, reflecting her dedication to excellence and professional development.Known for her composed and approachable demeanor, Peggy was recognized by colleagues and friends for her resilience and reassuring presence. Her positive outlook and genuine smile brought comfort and encouragement to those around her. Her coworkers and friends fondly described her as someone who was "not fazed by anything."A committed member of Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Parish in The Woodlands, Texas, Peggy's faith informed her actions and relationships, serving as a source of inspiration to others.In addition to her professional achievements, Peggy enjoyed cooking, reading the Bible, listening to music, and visiting the beach - activities that reflected her appreciation for peace, beauty, and connection.Peggy is preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband, son Kudzai, and daughters Claire and Mwaita, who were central to her life. She is also survived by her sisters Patience and Portia, three half-brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.Peggy Marawu Chipinda's legacy is marked by compassion, strength, and unwavering support for those around her. Her contributions to her family, community, and profession will always be remembered.
