Peggy Connell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory from Sep. 22 to Sep. 23, 2021.
Mrs. Peggy Smith Connell, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2021, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home at Otterbein Lebanon.

Peggy was born in Cincinnati, OH to Wilfred and Evelyn Smith.

Peggy is survived by her children; Carin (Trevor) Blair and Kevin (Dante) Connell, grandchildren; Aidan Blair and Mackenzie Blair, Katharine Connell, William Connell & Sarah Connell, sister, Joan (Ervin) Lipps and many extended relatives and friends in Ohio and Morgantown, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Peggy was a proud graduate of Western Hills High School. She then spent most of her life in her adopted home of Morgantown, WV where she learned about pepperoni rolls and shared the joys of Skyline Chili with her new friends. She loved watching the West Virginia University Mountaineers play football and basketball, but her absolute favorite was the Pride of West Virginia Mountaineer Marching Band. She felt strongly about getting involved in her community. She was active in the Service League of Morgantown and volunteered in many elections, helping candidates or manning the polls. Peggy had an outgoing personality, always greeting friends and strangers alike with a welcoming smile. She eventually returned to Ohio but always missed her WV home and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, 27th of September, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM when the services will begin, at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Once on the grounds of the memorial park, follow the blue line to the funeral home. Peggy will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations can be directed to Otterbein Hospice at https://otterbein.org/donate/ or at 3855 Lower Market Street, Suite 300, Lebanon, OH 45036 or to WVU Foundation at One Waterfront Place – 7th Floor, PO Box 1650 Morgantown, WV 26507-1650 or online at https://secure.give.wvu.edu/other with the designation for The Rodger D. and Janice M.
