Peggy Jean Davis, 87, of Rossville, TN passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Friends are invited to attend a visitation with the family on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m., all at Brookside Church. Pastor Marvin Tharnish will officiate. Interment will be held at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Peggy was born on October 7, 1938 in Red Hill, NC to Bertha and Clifford Tipton. She began her distinguished career working for J. Edgar Hoover at the FBI in Virginia before moving on to serve at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. After returning home to Tennessee, she built a successful career as a home builder and realtor, earning the respect of her peers and clients alike through her dedication and professionalism. Peggy was a member of Brookside Church and enjoyed writing in her free time.
Left to cherish Peggy's memory are her daughters, Julie Henderson of Rossville, TN, Susanne Smith (David) of Batesville, MS, and Natalie Tharnish (Marvin) of Olive Branch, MS; son, Greg Davis (Mary) of Rossville; numerous grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and the family dog, Zoey.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lynn Davis; parents, Bertha Parker Tipton and Clifford Tipton; and her sisters, Joan Martin and Sue Hodge.
In lieu of traditional flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Peggy's honor to Brookside Church (www.brooksidems.org) or to the charity of the donor's choice.
