Peggy A. Epler, 67, of Perry Twp., passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Alice M. (Yoder) Epler, Hamburg; and the late Harold D. Epler. She was a member of Frieden's Church, Shartlesville. She graduated from Hamburg Area High School; and later received an associates degree from Allentown Business School. She worked for 40 years as part of the KMart family in Temple until it closed in 2016; and was currently the assistant manager at Salvation Army in Hamburg for the past 8 years. Peggy was a selfless person who was involved in various charities and had a passion for helping those in need. She was a Sunday school teacher, lifelong girl scout leader, 4H leader, and playground leader. She was proud of being a tour guide at Onyx Cave, if even only for 2 years. She was also a member of Eastern Star; and was deeply involved at her church.
She is survived by three daughters: Misty L. (Rutt) Fosdick, wife of Pamela J. Fosdick, Chesapeake, VA, Amy L. (Rutt) Bukowski, wife of Michael J., Hampton, VA, and A. Dawn Rutt, Norfolk, VA; and six grandchildren: Rowyn E. Elliott, Lillian M. Fosdick, Liam Hafer, Linda Woomer, Carter Woomer, and Emma Woomer.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Frieden's Cemetery, Shartlesville.
