Peggy Sue Eynard, age 77, of Jefferson City formerly of Osage County, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City. Prior to Peggy’s passing, she lived at Heisinger Bluffs Riverview Assisted Living. She called the staff and residents there her second family.
Peggy was born January 22, 1948, in Cole County, a daughter to the late Buell and Marcellene (Perry) Senevey.
She was a 1966 graduate of Linn High School and later received her Nursing Degree through Regents College.
On September 6, 1969, she was united in marriage to Robert Eynard at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. He preceded her in death, on June 21, 2023. They raised their three children on the family farm in Frankenstein before moving to Jefferson City, Mo.
Peggy was a homemaker, worked for the State of Missouri for a time, owned her own ceramic shop, was an EMT, then went back to school to become a Registered Nurse after her children finished school. She loved being a nurse and providing care for others, showing her loving heart.
She enjoyed crocheting, needlepointing, ceramics, baking, quilting and reading. She had a wonderful sense of humor, that she passed along.
Survivors include three children, Velvet (Jeff) Meers of Jefferson City, Rachelle Eynard (Mitch Ditter) of Columbia, Douglas Eynard (Michael Paul) of St. Louis, one brother, Elmer (Jane) Senevey of Linn; two sisters, Pat Nilges of Linn and Sharon (Carl) Schuelen of Wardsville; five grandchildren, Abby and Grace LeCure and Jacob, Tyler, and Logan Meers; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her spouse of 53 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Senevey, a brother-in-law, Lawrence “Butch” Nilges, two nieces, Dawn Love and Michelle (Wallace) Nilges and a nephew Gary Love.
She was a passionate, loving grandma who always made time to watch her grandkids. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Samuel Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Linn Public Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center in Jefferson City.
