Berry Funeral Home & CrematoryMrs. Peggy Ruff Greenway, 90, of Elberton, wife of the late Howard L. Greenway, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her son's residence.
Mrs. Greenway was born April 15, 1935 in Elberton, GA to Martin Calvin Ruff and Victorine Lucille Jones Ruff. She was a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church where she was active with her Sunday School class, served in the children’s and other various ministries. She was a former X-Ray Technician of 30 years and retired from the administrative office of Elbert Memorial Hospital. In her free time she loved to cook for her family, read, garden, sew and Zumba.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Dennis Greenway and Trudy of Elberton; daughters and sons-in-law: Elaine Greenway Ellett and Thad of Anderson, SC, Vickie Greenway Tilley and Rick of Paducah, KY; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law: Theresa Ruff Albertson and W.D. of Elberton, and sister-in-law: Janet Ruff of Elberton as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard L. Greenway, brothers: Charles W. Ruff, Wallace D. Ruff, Albert M. "Shorty" Ruff, James W. Ruff; sisters: Elizabeth "Lib" Fortson, and Barbara Ruff Barger
Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Friday, December 12 at Rock Branch Baptist Church with Reverends Kevin Vaughn and Wayne Barger officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1PM to 1:45PM just prior to the service at Rock Branch Baptist Church.
Flowers are optional and memorials can be made in her memory to Rock Branch Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregiver Kelley Skelton.
