Breaux Bridge- A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Peggy Monk Guidry, 71, who passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Sunday from 10:00 AM until service time.
A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM on Sunday.
Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the funeral service.
Peggy was born on January 25, 1953, in Oakdale, Louisiana. Peggy dedicated her life to caring for others, earning the title of "Caregiver to many." Her kindness knew no bounds, and her nurturing spirit touching countless lives was immeasurable. Peggy also took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cross stitching each one of them and blanket by hand.
Beyond her role as a caregiver, Peggy found joy in various hobbies and interests. She devoted her time to the 4-H program for many years, where she inspired and mentored numerous individuals. Additionally, she had a love for meeting new people and playing Bingo.
She is survived by her children, Amy (Kenneth) Breaux, Francis (Shayna) Guidry, Cindy Guidry, Hali Guidry, and Michelle (Raegan) Pryor; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, W.D. Monk, Jimmy Monk and Bruce Monk; and her sister, Sissy McMorris.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Guidry; son, Chad Guidry; parents, David and Dorothy Eastwood Monk; brothers, Gerald Monk, Harold Monk and Tommy Monk; and her sisters, Diane Monk and Nelda Johnson.
