Peggy Joyce McCarson

Peggy Joyce McCarson, 87, beloved wife of the late Donald McCarson, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late William and Essie Helton Thompson.
A devoted woman of faith, Peggy was an active member of Agnew Road Church of God, always putting God and her family first. She retired from Judson Mill after 29 years of dedicated service.
Known for her famous banana pudding, Peggy brought joy to many through her cooking and warm spirit. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, GiGi embraced life with grace, facing its trials and joys with unwavering love.Her family lovingly shared, "She loved us well, just as we loved her." She was the heart of their family and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by sons, Donny McCarson (Pam), Jerry McCarson (Renee); grandchildren, Brandy McCarson, Lindsey Gordon (Jimmy), Kayla Timms, Ericka McCarson, Brandon Baker; great grandchildren, Lauren Whitfield, Michael Hilley, Liam Gordon, and Peyton "Pay-Pay" Timms; and great-great grandchild, Miller Kate Whitfield.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Billy and Jim McCarson; sisters, Mildred Cox, Cathy "Cat" Bishop, Carolyn " Boots" Simmons; and brother, Dennis Helton.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 08, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.
The family will be at the residence of Donny and Pam McCarson.
