Our beloved mom Mrs. Peggy Anderson Poole entered peacefully into rest Thursday, December 19, 2024, at her residence.
Peggy was born in Augusta, Georgia, May 12, 1939, to Lawrence and Florrie Anderson. Following graduation from the Academy of Richmond County, she married and went on to have four children, Dennis, Debbie, Tommy, and Michael, who she worked hard to ensure grew up to be upstanding individuals. Peggy was an outstanding employee in a variety of settings, to include Augusta Anesthesiology Associates, Grovetown City Hall, and Video Plus, a store that she owned and operated with great pride. Wherever she went, Peggy made friends and gave them a listening ear and sometimes hard, but sound advice for living.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Isabell Snellings, Lawrence “Buddy” Anderson, William “Tommy” Anderson, and Shirley James; her husband Horace Melvin Poole; and her grandson Samuel Dennis “Scoot” Carraway III. Surviving family members include her children Samuel D. Carraway Junior (Annette), Thomas E. “Tom” Carraway (Rose), Deborah Carraway Maddox (Terry), and Michael W. Carraway (Sandra), ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors on Monday, December 23, at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers include her grandsons Joshua, Matthew, and Trevor Maddox, Jason and Sean Carraway, Michael Carraway II, and Brandon Sanders. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, December 22, 2024 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31.
