It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Ann (Wood) Ross, age 69, who departed this life on March 25, 2026. Born on October 9, 1956, in Thomasville, Georgia, Peggy was the youngest of her family, known for her meticulous nature and her ability to take charge in any situation. A devoted educator, she dedicated her life to shaping young minds, demonstrating a deep passion for teaching that inspired countless students. She was also an avid, die-hard Florida State Seminole football fan. She grew up in Greenville, Fl. and graduated from the high school in Greenville.
She is preceded in death by her parents R.M. and Peggy Wood, and her sister Jennie Stokley.
Peggy is survived by her son Garrett Ross, her sister Paula Brock and her husband Gene of Monticello, FL., and her brother John Wood and his wife Teresa of Milton, FL., who were a source of support and companionship in her life. A dedicated Christian, Peggy's faith guided her actions and provided her with strength throughout her years.
In addition to her commitment to education and family, Peggy had a lifelong love of swimming, a passion that brought her joy and a sense of freedom.
Funeral services for Peggy Ann Ross will be held in the coming days, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and celebrate her remarkable life. Specific details regarding the service will be shared soon.
