Peggy Sturdevant Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Austin/Round Rock on Dec. 3, 2025.
Peggy Marie Sturdevant, a cherished matriarch, and beacon of creativity, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on February 13, 1932, in Austin, Texas, Peggy lived a life marked by love, artistry, and unwavering faith. She remained a lifelong resident of Austin, where she also drew her last breath, surrounded by the city's familiar warmth and the love of her family.
Peggy's life was a rich tapestry woven with the threads of family, work, and passion. She was the beloved mother of Judy Pewitt (Robert), Donna Tobin (Mike), Sandy Seng (Jim), Scott Krueger, and Jeff Krueger (Tracy). Her legacy further blossomed with 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Peggy was predeceased by her daughter Debbie Whitt, grandson Bradley, and great-grandson Clayton. She was also a loving partner to her late husbands, Alvin Krueger, Robert Sturdevant, and Bob Fulmer, each of whom cherished her deeply.
A proud graduate of Austin High School, Peggy's intellect and skill found a home at Dillard's, where she dedicated over two decades of service. Known for her impeccable taste and attention to detail, she was not just an employee but a treasured colleague and friend. Her talents as an excellent seamstress were not only appreciated by those who knew her but also became a cherished part of her identity.
Peggy's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through times of joy and sorrow with unwavering grace. Her belief was not just a Sunday commitment but a daily practice that she embodied through her kindness and generosity. Her artistic gifts were manifold, but perhaps Peggy will be most remembered for the beautiful quilts she lovingly crafted for her grandchildren and some of her great-grandchildren. Each stitch was a testament to her dedication to her family, wrapping them in the warmth of her love. Her hands were rarely still, as she also created numerous ceramic dolls and other beautiful items, leaving a tangible legacy of her talent.
Peggy's flair for interior decorating was renowned; she had an innate ability to transform any space into a haven of comfort and beauty. Peggy's life was a celebration of the beauty that can be created with one's own hands, the joy of family gathered close, and the peace that comes from a life well-lived. Her spirit, a blend of strength and gentleness, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we bid farewell to Peggy Marie Sturdevant, we hold tight to the memories she crafted with the same care and love she put into every quilt, every doll, and every life she touched. Her story is not one of ending but of enduring influence and love that will continue to envelop us, much like one of her cherished quilts, for generations to come.
