With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Peggy Jean Thompson, a devoted mother, compassionate nurse, and cherished friend. Born on January 27, 1938, in Gonzales, Texas, Peggy lived a life characterized by love, dedication, and service to others. She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1955 and later graduated from the University of Texas-Nursing School in Galveston. Peggy spent her career as a Registered Nurse, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of her patients. In 1986, she moved to Lubbock, Texas, where she continued her nursing career with Caprock Home Health, leaving a lasting impact on the community she served. As a mother, Peggy loved her children, Barry Hewett and Terri Cain, with an immense and unconditional affection. She found joy not only in her family but also in her passion for animals. An avid animal lover, Peggy considered her pets to be family, often welcoming and adopting feral cats into her home. Peggy's legacy extends beyond her professional accomplishments and her beloved family; it is woven into the hearts of all who knew her. Her dedication to her work, her compassion for every living being, and her unwavering love for her children reflect a life beautifully lived. Peggy's remains will be cremated, allowing her essence to remain in the hearts of those who love her. Peggy Jean Thompson will be deeply missed but will forever be remembered for her warm heart and nurturing spirit. May she rest in peace. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, William Terrell and Onia Fogle Terrell: son, Gary Hewett; siblings, Shirley French, Janet Salmon and Gwendolyn Koerner.
