It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Angela Margarita Mattison, who left us far too soon on August 13, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 7, 1958, in San Salvador, El Salvador, Angela dedicated her life to simply putting smiles on faces just by her existence alone. A wonderful mother and a beloved teacher, she leaves behind her son, Aldo, and two brothers, Fernando (Nando) and Guillermo (Mito). Many knew her as Ms. Mattison, a spanish teacher who dedicated many years to teaching, to sharing other cultures and giving a unique perspective of part of the world she was truly passionate about. On any given morning, you could find Angela dancing to her favorite music, whether it be Maluma, Juan Luis Guerra, or Daddy Yankee-even if she had to use her walker (in her favorite color, pink). Angela loved to cook as much as she loved to dance, and often, you could hear the sounds of pupusas being made in the kitchen while cumbia or salsa played. With her gone, the sun will shine a little less bright without her presence, and countless others will feel the weight of such a monumental loss of a woman who loved to talk, to joke with everyone around her. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her. Angela was preceded in death by her father, Octavio Aguilar and mother, Margarita Aguilar. A Memorial Service in honor of Angela will be held at Sanders Memorial Chapel on August 29, 2025, at 10:00 am. Friends and family are invited to help celebrate her life and share their unforgettable memories of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
