Ruben Lopez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 84. He was born on November 18, 1940, in Hargill, Texas, and was a proud American citizen who dedicated over 50 years of his life to the trucking industry as an esteemed truck driver. Ruben traveled the length and breadth of the United States, forging friendships and memories with fellow drivers and truck stop families along the way.Ruben was married to the love of his life, Linda Lopez, and together they built a beautiful family, which includes their cherished children: Diana, Oscar, Ruben Jr., Patricia, Rene, and Christina. He also leaves behind his brothers, Oscar, Joe, and Eddie Lopez, and sister, Celia Lopez, who remember him fondly as a loving sibling.Throughout his life, Ruben enjoyed the thrill of baseball in his younger days, eventually transitioning to his passion for golf. He created countless joyful moments with his family, particularly during their camping trips and fishing outings at various lakes, where laughter and shared stories would fill the air.Family and friends are invited to join for visitation to share memories and honor his legacy on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM. The funeral service, celebrating Ruben's remarkable journey, will take place at Sanders Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:30 AM.
