Peggy Ann Tolbert, 86, wife of the late Willie B. Tolbert, of 116 Old 96 Highway, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her home.

Born on March 18, 1939 in Reidsville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Harper and Harvard N. Harper.

Peggy was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Deaconess and on The Pastor's Aide Committee. She took so much pride in beautifying the church. She was instrumental in starting the Noon Day Bible Study until she became ill.

Peggy retired from Greenwood Matthew Mills Plant after 30 years of service. After retirement she worked at Wal-Mart for 10 years and The Burton Center. She was also a member of Women's Home Aid Society #87.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Settles and Joan Harper.

Peggy was affectionately known as "GRANDMA PRECIOUS" to her grandchildren. She was dedicated to her family and friends, she was very generous with her time and loved caring about others.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her daughters, Sonja (Brian) Perrin and Juna T. Deal both of Greenwood, SC; Her stepson, Bobby (Delores) Terry of Philadelphia, PA; six grandchildren; a sister, Mae Catherine (James) Anderson of Newport News, VA. A host of other relatives and friends; one son-in-law Tessel Deal.

Public viewing will be held from 1-5 P. M. on Sunday January 11, 2026 at the funeral home.

Homegoing services for Mrs. Peggy Ann Tolbert will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Pastor Bishop Dr. Dexter Cannon presiding and the Reverend Raymond Adams Officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 12 Noon Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home.
