Peggy Barbara Vosburgh, 93, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Exeter, California. Born on July 19, 1931, in Annapolis, Maryland, Peggy lived a vibrant and full life marked by deep devotion to her family, an unwavering love for animals, and a spirited sense of independence. Peggy was the beloved daughter of Florence Watkins and Burley Repress. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family that included her sisters Marjorie Wieler and Doris Kocsis, both of whom preceded her in death. She also shared close bonds with her half-siblings Mary McDaniel, Russell Respress, Leland Respress, Roy Respress, and Burley Lee Respress. A devoted wife to her cherished husband Gilbert until his passing in December of 2021, Peggy built a life rooted in love and resilience. After Gilbert retired from the U.S. Navy, the couple started the next phase of their life while living in Lemoore, California where Peggy founded Colonial Kennels-a successful dog and cat kennel that reflected her lifelong passion for animals. Her commitment to rescuing creatures of all kinds became one of the defining aspects of her legacy. Later in life, Peggy and Gil owned and operated the Sierra Glen store in Badger, California before eventually moving to Exeter. There she spent her final years surrounded by family and the companionship of her treasured dog Annie. A devout Christian with a joyful spirit, Peggy found happiness in simple pleasures-shopping trips and time spent with loved ones were among her favorite pastimes. Peggy is survived by her son Ken and his wife Tina; son Johnny and his wife Joyce; daughter Cheryl and her husband Vicente; nephew Ronnie and his wife Rachada; niece Marla; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members who will continue to honor her memory. A graveside service will be held at Grangeville Cemetery on Wednesday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. in Armona, California. Peggy will be laid to rest beside her adored mother Florence-a fitting tribute to their enduring bond. Peggy Barbara Vosburgh was truly one of a kind-fun-loving, fiercely loyal, and full of heart. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the animals she so lovingly cared for. May her legacy bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Graveside Service will be held on May 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grangeville Cemetery 10428 14th Avenue, Armona, California.
