In loving memory of Pency Altamirano, who graced our lives with her vibrancy and warmth. Born on October 25, 1939, in Oruro, Bolivia, Pency was a luminous spirit whose life journey will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know her. With a heart as expansive as the mountains of her homeland, she embraced each day with laughter, an infectious joy that brightened even the darkest moments. She had a unique gift for establishing connections with those around her, welcoming everyone into her home and making them part of her family.
An ardent advocate of the Roman Catholic faith, Pency was noted for her steadfast commitment to her beliefs, always finding ways to give insightful life advice that resonated deeply with those who sought her wisdom. Each Christmas, her extensive nativity scene became a testament to her love for tradition and family, serving as a gathering place for those she cherished.
Her kitchen was a sanctuary where the delightful aromas of traditional Bolivian recipes wafted through the air, a tribute to her love for cooking and baking. With every dish she prepared, she not only served meals but shared a piece of her heart and culture. Her grandkids would eagerly gather around her, soaking in not just the delicious food, but the rich stories of their heritage — tales of music, dance, and the vibrant customs that defined their lineage.
As a mother, Pency was fiercely dedicated to her children, Francisco and Silvia, who were forever beneficiaries of her wisdom and life advice. Her strength was further illustrated in the joyful chaos of family gatherings where her legacy continued to grow through her grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Antonio, and Cristian, alongside her adorable great-grandchildren, Benjamin and River Cole. Each of them carries a spark of her spirit, a living testament to her love.
Pency is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with her beloved sister, Maluza, nephews, nieces, grand nephew/nieces and great-grandnephews/nieces and extended family of cherished friends from far and wide. She will be dearly missed, yet her essence will remain woven into the very fabric of our lives.
Pency Altamirano was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Altamirano, who joined her once again after a long journey of love and partnership. Their bond transcended the realms of life's challenges, and she will forever hold him close in her heart as she embarks on this new journey.
Family and friends are invited to attend Pency’s Funeral Service, to be held at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Falls Church, Virginia, on July 28, 2025. The service will commence at 2:00 PM, offering a moment to celebrate a life beautifully lived, honoring a woman who cherished existence in all its colorful hues.
