Penelope Dignan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bower Funeral Chapel - Pulaski on Jan. 17, 2026.
Penelope Ann "Penny" Dignan, 68, passed away on January 16, 2026, at New River Valley Medical Center.

Penny was born on December 6, 1957, in California, to John Clifford Dignan and Janet Shute Dignan. She earned her GED and went on to build a long and dedicated career as a General Manager in convenience stores and in property management, where she was known for her strong work ethic and reliability.

Penny was a kind, selfless, humble, and loving woman who put her family and friends above all else. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, and she found simple joy in playing Yahtzee with those she loved.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren, including Sharon and Frankie Roop and Crystal Linkous; grandchildren Madison Linkous and Addison Roop; and her great-grandson, Jahzir Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings: Salley Dignan (Ken), Rick Mansell (Carole), Gerald Dignan, and Darcy Dignan.

Penny also leaves behind many close friends who were like family to her, including Rosanne and Donald Engstrom, Dottie Sutphin, Troy Ruff, and so many other special friends whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on January 19, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapels.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Penny's memory. To Sign Penny's online guestbook, visit www.bowerfuneralhome.com
