Penny Lee Chaple, 83, of McKean, died Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Nightingale Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Erie on September 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Gordon and Dorothy Amidon.
Penny was a 1960 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She worked as a teller for First National/PNC Bank for many years, and had also worked in the deli at Wegman's after retirement.
Penny was very talented in ceramics. She had a love for animals and was involved in rescue and other animal rights causes. She was a member of McKean Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Carl “Charlie” Chaple; a son, Scott Crane of Erie; a daughter, Cindy (Rodney) Hammond of McKean, PA; a stepdaughter, Melissa (Chris) Potter of Portland, OR; a stepson, Charles (Amy) Chaple of Dallas, TX; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be private. The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is entrusted with arrangements.
