Penny Gamble, age 66, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at Rosewood Assisted Living in Fort Oglethorpe.
A funeral service in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 30, 2024, in the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Michael Kilgore. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the start of the service at 2:00 PM. Following the service, Penny will be laid to rest at Smith Cemetery in Flat Rock, Alabama.
Penny was born on August 6, 1958, in Bridgeport, Alabama, to Earl Fowler Gore and Mildred Massengale Gore. A longtime resident of Trenton, she dedicated herself as a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Bridgeport. For over 25 years, Penny worked with Jake Marshall Service in Chattanooga, where she excelled as an Office Manager.
Penny had a passion for traveling and was an avid reader of romance novels. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she treasured the time spent creating lasting memories. Known for her warm and generous spirit, Penny was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her vibrant personality and kind heart touched the lives of many, and she will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Penny was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Dewayne Gamble, and her father, Earl F. Gore. She is survived by her two sons, Kevin Pyburn and James Tatum; her mother, Mildred Massengale Gore; her sister, Gayla (Gary W.) Thomas; her brother, Skip Gore; her granddaughter, Bailey Pyburn; and a host of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Penny's memory to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, the Alzheimer's Association, or the Tri-State Humane Society in Trenton, Georgia.
These arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Moore Funeral Home, Trenton, Georgia.
