Penny Lou Goldammer, 84, died at home on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, under hospice care. Penny was born June 4, 1941 to William and Nellie (Leaf) Jensen in St. Maries, Idaho. Penny was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. Maries. Penny attended school in St. Maries and graduated from St. Maries High School in 1959. She attended Kinmen Business School in Spokane, Wash.

On June 8, 1963, she married Oliver Goldammer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. Maries. They were married for 62 years. Together they raised three children.

Penny was primarily a stay-at-home mom. Her feeling was that when children returned home from school a parent should be present to greet them. However, Penny did work for the U.S. Forest Service, JC Penny Company, the Grangeville School District and Hallmark in Grangeville.

Penny is survived by her husband Oliver, daughters Susan (Wayne) Lewis, Kimberly (Dusty) Berquist both from Lewiston and their son Jason (Brenda) Goldammer of San Francisco. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Cheyanne (Cody) Koch, of Bellevue, Wash., and Samantha Ausman, of Spokane. Surviving also are her sister Rozanne Ryle, of Post Falls, two nieces Debbie Marek, of Pinehurst, and Serena Gains, of Spokane, and nephew Chip Ryle, of Warrensburg, Mo. Last but not least, a great-grandson Sawyer Koch.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Ronald Ryle.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 920 Eighth Ave., Lewiston. A luncheon will follow the service. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and caretakers of Elite Hospice for their devoted care of Penny during her illness.
