Penny Lucinda King

Penny King, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on February 28, 2026.

Penny was a loving mother, daughter, and sister who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a proud graduate of Jackson High School, Class of 1987. Following graduation, Penny honorably served our nation for nearly six years in the United States Army, with assignments in Germany and stateside. She was a Persian Gulf War veteran who served in-country during Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

After her military service, Penny devoted much of her life to caring for others. While living in Arizona, she operated an Alzheimer's care home for many years and later assisted with state compensation claims, continuing her commitment to helping those in need.

She is survived by her beloved son, Michael King; her mother, Patricia Patterson; her siblings, Cheryl Malone, Cory (Lisa) King, Arron (Melissa) King, and David Lawson; as well as countless nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cherished dogs, Riv and Spike.
