Penny Nicholes Obituary
Penny Mabe Nicholes died early Monday morning at Gibson House, succumbing to complications related to her kidneys. She graduated from Campbell College with a B.S. in Education. She then embarked on a teaching career in South Carolina, which lasted until her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, leading to her early retirement. She returned to her hometown of Reidsville, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen Woodrow Mabe, Sr. and Mary Louise Mabe, and her older brother Allen.
She is survived by her son, James Nicholes; her brother, John Robert Mabe, and sister-in-law, Odelia Mabe; as well as her aunts, Roberta Bryant, Mildred Manley, and Sylvia Evans.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th, at 1:30 p.m. at Burton Memorial Baptist Church, 184 Cook Florist Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
