Penny Robertson Simmons, 67, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County and was the daughter of the late Wilson Allan “Buck and Cora Rebecca Coble Robertson.
Penny retired as a Para Legal with the US Attorney’s Office in Greensboro and was a licensed Real Estate agent. Penny enjoyed attending church and was caring and thoughtful friend and neighbor. She was a member of the Red Hats Club and enjoyed shagging and taking trips to the beach. Penny loved spending time with her family and especially her son Chris, who spoiled her with his cooking talents. She enjoyed the simple things in life, like a walk in the park, knitting or reading a good book. Her smile and sweet spirit were her most endearing qualities and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Christopher “Chris” Allan Simmons and his companion, Tiffany Danielle Maness of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Christian Gage Maness and Aaliyah Elizabeth Maness and her aunt, Andrea Pitts of Graham.
She was preceded in death by her parents and special uncle and aunt, Dillard and Helen Byers.
The family is having a private service to celebrate her life.
