Penny Smothers

Penny, 53, passed away in her home on October 20, 2025. She is the wife of Chad Smothers, sharing 10 amazing years together.

Penny was born and raised in Dallas, Oregon. Daughter of Richard and Marcia Fisher. Penny left Dallas to attend college in Ashland, then returned to Dallas where she remained throughout her life. She spent around 15 years with the Dallas School District in food services. Most recently, she ran a daycare in-home to care for many children who love and appreciate her.

Penny was happiest when surrounded by family, and especially during holidays when all of her children could come together with loud laughter and love the filled her home. Her warm smile and embracing hugs will be deeply missed.

Penny leaves behind 6 amazing sons who she cherished. Spencer Hise (Tiesha), Bailey Hise (Haley), Cooper Hise, Griffin Hise, Levi Smothers, Alex Smothers; her husband Chad Smothers, brother Richard Fisher and family, Aunt Sally, Family Judy, Casey, and countless others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, cousins and grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11am, at Dallas Cemetery.
